 Ann Stockdale has been a visual artist since 1985. Her work has not only been shown in many galleries and national shows, but her oils and watercolors can be seen in hotels throughout California, Florida, Mexico and Puerto Rico. One gallery owner calls her a "Utopia" painter as she paints her joy and emotion with a myriad of colors. Her work feels tropical and sensuous and ranges from realistic/impressionistic night scenes to abstract works of silent poetry.
Ann says of her abstract art, "My motivation is color and the impulse of spirit. This healing image of love brought through the spirit world is my co-creation of silent music. The expression of joy with my maker. The small unique piece, which is me, linking with the larger 'I am' in all."
Born in Miami, Florida, she now lives with her husband Don and cat "Spike" in Gig Harbor, WA. Ann has lived the major portions of her life in Miami, California, London, England, and the Pacific Northwest. She moved from her hometown of Miami when her father was appointed US Ambassador to Ireland under President Kennedy. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, where she emerged in such shows as the "Establishment Review". She was a contender for Best Actress Newcomer on Broadway for "Hail Scawdyke", directed by Alan Arkin. She also worked with Jonathan Demme, Director of "Silence of the Lambs".
